This stall used to be located at Jackson Food Centre. The ngor hiang was served piping hot. But the last time I bought it, it did seem to me that they had fried it again. It tasted abit different though. The chilli was just as nice.

Swee Guan Fried Hokkien Mee
I have been eating this Hokkien Mee since young. We used to cycle to the coffeshop tpo buy when we were staying near Geylang. The mee is still fried using charcoal therefore it tastes very nice. I can eat it twice a week.

Waraku @ East Coast (2nd Visit to Waraku Restaurant)
2nd Visit to Waraku. This time we went to try out Waruku at East Coast. It is located in the same carpark as Long Beach. We were there together with Mom, Gary and Xiang Jun. They all thought the food was good. We had a very full meal there. Advised to make prior reervations.

Braised Duck Rice - Hup Seng Duck Rice
Dac had first brought me to try the Bak Ku Teh at Block 22 but I had actually fallen in love with the Salted Vegetable Duck Soup at this store instead. I had gone back numerous times for the soup. It is sour and that is what is call good Salted Vegetable Duck Soup. The Braised Duck here is also pretty nice.

Hill Street Char Kway Teow
This Char Kway Teow is the real deal. The texture and taste of the Kway Teow is absolutely fabulous. Plus, he uses a liberal amount of crunchy sweet Towgay (Bean Sprouts) and Gu Chai (Chives) which combines together to culminate in an explosion of taste and texture in your mouth.
I am not someone who likes towgay, but this char kway teow makes me lick my plate
clean. Hee Hee!!

Good Food always come with long queues!!!! Dac had queued for over half an hour to get his hands on the cuttlefish kangkong.
I personally find the dish tasted better with bee hoon as it is not so sweet. The servings were also quite generous. I would definitely come back for more.

Lor Mee @ Bukit Purmei
This is one Lor Mee stall that i particularly like.
Apparently, this lor mee stall at Bukit Purmei is related to the famous Tiong Bahru Lor Mee which used to be located at Tiong Bahru market. The Tiong Bahru Lor Mee stall has now shifted to Bukit Batok. I find that this is much better than the one one Bukit Batok.
My personal verdict on this lor mee: It tastes superb and is totally value for money because a decent bowl of lor mee only costs $2. Can order $2 and add ingredients for additional $1.
The ingredient list of the lor mee included fish cake, char siew, bean sprouts and mini fried flour bits. My favourite ingredient was the mini fried flour bits. The flour bits were very well-fried and crispy, and did not turn soft even after being soaked in the lor mee stock.

Had a sudden craving for steamboat and got Dac to bring me here to try the stemaboat here. The were a few choices of soup base and we settled on having the satay soup and the dried scallop soup. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. The chiili was pretty good too.
I would definitely be coming back here if my craving for steamboat comes again.

Dac and I really liked the Dragon Roll and Raw Salmon Salad when we first tried it at the branch at Serangoon Gardens. The Dragon Roll was served warm. The Salmon Belly soup is not bad too. The prices here are much higher than other shops. You are paying for quality and freshness here.

Have eaten Hum Jin Pang (HJP) from this store since my A'levels days. Found this jewel when I was working at URA during my holidays while waiting for entry to University. That would be like 10 to 12 years ago.
The stall owner, 70-year old Lee Chok, also known as Hum Jin Pang Ah Pek, is a legend. He stands tall & mighty with his fragil frame, hunched to knead and roll dough non-stop with only his daughter to help out.
The selling point of this HJP stall is that customers can fry the HJP themselves while he continously dumps dough into the huge wok of hot cooking oil. The cost is only $1 for seven small puff that are available in two types: one infused with five spice (outer layer sprinkled with sugar & salt) and the other filled with sweet red bean paste. ( outer layer is covered with sesame).
The only catch is that they only open from 1pm to 8pm. Sometimes they end early if they finishes their 25kg of flour.
